children doing dramaWe can all remember what it was like to be young and to be treated to a performance of some description - a movie, a play, a musical, even street-theatre was acceptable, so long as it was entertaining and diverting enough to hold our youthful attention.  Children are highly susceptible to outside influences which is why they absorb so quickly the programs they watch on television and the messages they see on the internet.  Dramatic performances are equally as effective if not more so - the simple fact that they are performed by actors on stage right in front of the children watching can mean that the children become entranced by the performance.  Far from being cut off from the action by a television or computer screen, live stage plays encourage the children to let their imaginations run wild.

Plays are fantastic educational tools, which is another reason why they are so popular with schools, teachers and parents.  They encourage children to think creatively, to use their imaginations and to experiment with a new way of communicating and receiving information.

Constructed in an entertaining manner, plays can be one of the most effective ways to teach children important life lessons, simply because they may not be aware that they are being taught lessons in the first place.  Whilst children have a good time, ethical and moral behaviours are being instilled in their young minds - and this is always a positive thing.
